In the Sonoran Desert there are many invasive species. Some of these include Fountain Grass, Natal Grass, Sahara Mustard, Tamarisk, Athel Tree, Onion Weed, Red Imported Fire Ants, Argentine Cactus Moths, and Buffle Grass. Buffle Grass is shrubby and is 1.5 feet tall and 3 feet wide. When the plant gets older it grows branches. These branches produce new leaves and flower spikes. light rains help form the plant. The spikes contain fruit that are actually burs. Buffle Grass crowds out other plants of similar size and the competition of water can kill other plants.
